Toyota Vietnam has just launched a recall campaign for 16 Corolla Altis 2017 cars related to a rear shock absorber bracket defect.

Toyota Vietnam's recall campaign was approved by the Vietnam Register on March 12. Accordingly, the number of vehicles subject to recall includes 16 Toyota Corolla Altis manufactured from August 11, 2017 to August 12, 2017.

According to the manufacturer's recommendation, from August 11, 2017, Toyota Vietnam put into use in the production line a new fixture used to install the rear shock absorber assembly of the Corolla Altis. However, this new fixture was assembled inappropriately compared to the design drawing.

16 Toyota Corolla Altis cars must be recalled due to rear shock absorber bracket defect in Vietnam.

Therefore, when the rear shock absorber assembly is mounted on the vehicle body, the shock absorber assembly is rotated 180⁰, causing the spring base to rotate as well. This causes the rear shock absorber mount to potentially collide with the ABS sensor wire holder when the vehicle is running, causing a noise.

Defective vehicles are inspected and the rear shock absorber brackets are adjusted. The company has not received any reports of customers having problems.detect unusual noise from the above problem.

The recall campaign will begin on March 18, 2018, and end on March 19, 2019. The repair time for each vehicle will take 2 hours. Customers will not be charged any costs related to this error.

Before the rear shock absorber error, not long ago, the old Toyota Corolla Altis line had to be recalled due to airbag error with tens of thousands of units./.
