Vinh City plans to build a clean vegetable area associated with suburban tourism.

(Baonghean.vn) - On the afternoon of August 8, the North Central Institute of Agricultural Science and Technology held a conference on scientific research cooperation with the People's Committee of Vinh City.

In recent times, the North Central Institute of Agricultural Science and Technology has had many activities to support Vinh City in research, transfer of science and technology and application of plant varieties for agricultural production. Among them, the most successful project is the development of suburban agriculture which has been effectively implemented.

Through the project, the city has built models of safe vegetable cultivation, ornamental plants, and aquaculture in the communes of Hung Dong, Nghi Kim, Nghi Lien, and Nghi An. However, due to the urbanization process, the project has now revealed many difficulties and obstacles in developing agricultural production.

Vinh City and the North Central Institute of Agricultural Science and Technology discussed coordination in transferring science and technology to develop suburban agriculture.

The North Central Institute of Agricultural Science and Technology and the Vinh City People's Committee focused on discussing and proposing necessary requirements in applying scientific and technological advances to agricultural production. In particular, focusing on key contents such as: Developing agricultural production in the direction of goods, linking production with product consumption; applying science and technology to create clean products, ensuring quality and safety for users. At the same time, researching and building an agricultural model focusing on specialized cultivation of safe vegetables and flowers in the direction of organic agricultural production associated with tourism development in the city.
