Vinh City plans to build a clean vegetable area associated with suburban tourism

(Baonghean.vn) - On the afternoon of August 8, the North Central Institute of Agricultural Science and Technology held a conference on scientific research cooperation with the Vinh City People's Committee.

In recent times, the North Central Agricultural Science and Technology Institute has had many activities to support Vinh City in research, technology transfer and application of plant varieties for agricultural production. The most successful of these is the project on developing suburban agriculture which has been effectively implemented.

Through the project, the city has built models of safe vegetable growing, ornamental flowers and plants, and aquaculture in the communes of Hung Dong, Nghi Kim, Nghi Lien, and Nghi An. However, due to the urbanization process, the project is currently facing many difficulties and obstacles in developing agricultural production.

Vinh City and the North Central Institute of Agricultural Science and Technology discussed the coordination of science and technology transfer to develop suburban agriculture.

The North Central Institute of Agricultural Science and Technology and the Vinh City People's Committee focused on discussing and proposing necessary requirements in applying scientific and technological advances to agricultural production. In particular, focusing on key contents such as: Developing agricultural production in the direction of goods, linking production with product consumption; applying science and technology to create clean products, ensuring quality and safety for users. At the same time, researching and building a concentrated agricultural model specializing in safe vegetable and flower areas in the direction of organic agricultural production associated with tourism development in the city.
