Dien Van Commune Health Station was reported as a typical example at the national health sector conference.

Dien Van is a particularly disadvantaged commune in the coastal alluvial plain of Dien Chau district. The entire commune has 7,678 people, 90% of whom have health insurance cards. Dien Van Commune Health Station was awarded the title of Heroic Labor Unit in the Renewal Period by the President in 2009 and achieved the National Criteria for Commune Health in 2015.

In April 2017, Dien Van Commune Health Station implemented an integrated model: both implementing disease prevention and initial medical examination and treatment, and integrating health examination and record management according to the family doctor model.

In 2017, Dien Van Commune Health Station achieved many good results in all aspects of work. The station did not let any epidemics occur in the area, all health programs were implemented effectively, exceeding the planned targets. The station examined 14,766 people, and treated 763 inpatients.

Implementing integrated activities, during the year, the Station conducted general health check-ups and performed basic tests, ultrasound, X-ray, blood type determination, and hematological indicators for all people in the commune.

From the examination results, the Station established a management profile according to the family doctor model and continuously updated and monitored the health status of local people, thereby building a local disease model to advise the Party Committee and government on the health care plan for local people.

At the same time, based on the actual health of each person and each household, the medical staff at the station and the village health center advise people to take good measures for their own health. When detecting a disease, the medical staff advises and guides the patient to go to the right medical facility and promptly treat the disease early to save their money.

The report by the Head of Dien Van Commune Health Station received high appreciation from delegates attending the 2018 Health Sector Implementation Conference. The integrated model that Dien Van Health Station implemented is the direction for developing grassroots health care that the Ministry of Health will direct in the coming time.

At the conference, the Ministry of Health deployed the Action Program to implement the Project on Building and Developing the Grassroots Health Network according to Decision 2348/QD-TTg of the Prime Minister; Introduced the Ministry of Health's Guidelines on implementing the model of health stations in 26 communes and wards in the period of 2018 - 2020; Guided the establishment and management of personal health records; Deployed information technology applications at commune and ward health stations./.
