500 Australian cow farm on top of mountain in Nghe An

(Baonghean.vn) - On the top of a rather high mountain in Nghia Dung (Tan Ky) there is a rather large Australian cow farm of Kieu Phuong Company. The farm currently has over 500 Australian cows with an investment of nearly 20 billion VND.

The farm is located in a high valley of Nghia Dung - Tan Ky commune, nearly 3 km from the Ho Chi Minh trail, surrounded by bare hills planted with acacia trees. The farm owner said that it cost 7 billion VND to move the herd of cows up here and invest in the farm system. The purpose of moving up here is because the valley is wide and the climate is cool.

In front of the farm are the high mountains of Yen Thanh district.

The farm currently has more than 500 cows. Of these, 330 are mother cows and the rest are newborn calves. The mother cows were purchased for 40 million VND each and are pregnant from Australia. This herd will create a source of good quality cows to supply for beef cattle in Nghe An province.

Each cow imported from Australia is tagged in the ear for tracking.

This is the first litter of calves born and is currently growing healthily. If raised to one year old, they will be sold for 40 million VND/calf.

The second litter of calves is just over a month old, many are still breastfeeding and learning to eat straw.

The cows were divided into groups and mated in pens. It is known that cows give birth once a year.

The farm has 10 rows of houses, corresponding to 10 rows of cow barns.
