Solemn memorial ceremony for the 117th anniversary of the death of President Ho Chi Minh's mother
(Baonghean.vn) - On the morning of February 7, in Nam Dan district, a ceremony was held to commemorate the 117th anniversary of the death of President Ho Chi Minh's mother.
Attending the ceremony were Comrade Cao Thi Hien - Member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Council; Major General Tran Vo Dung - Party Secretary, Political Commissar of Military Region 4; members of the Hoang Xuan and Nguyen Sinh families; along with local departments, branches, organizations and a large number of tourists and people in the region.

Mrs. Hoang Thi Loan was born in 1868 in Hoang Tru village, Chung Cu commune, Lam Thinh canton, Nam Duong district (now Hoang Tri village, Kim Lien commune, Nam Dan district). In 1883, she married Mr. Nguyen Sinh Sac and had 4 children.
On February 10, 1901 (December 22, Canh Ty year), she fell seriously ill and passed away in Hue Capital, leaving behind endless grief for her family, relatives, and neighbors. Her body was buried at Tam Tang Mountain on the Huong River in Hue.
In 1922, Ms. Hoang Thi Loan's remains were brought back by her daughter Thanh to be buried in her garden in Lang Sen - Kim Lien. In 1942, her remains were brought back by her uncle Nguyen Sinh Khiem to be reburied at Dong Tranh mountain in Dai Hue range.

Along with that, unite and strive to build Nghe An in general, Nam Dan and Kim Lien in particular, to become increasingly prosperous, to become a model province, district and commune as Uncle Ho always wished in his lifetime to repay the great contributions of Mrs. Hoang Thi Loan.
