On the evening of February 1, Man City announced on their website that they had signed a three-year contract with coach Pep Guardiola. The arrival of one of the world's most successful coaches at the Etihad Stadium quickly sent fans into a frenzy, and at the same time, the speed of accessing information was accelerated.
Due to the lack of preparation, Man City's website was paralyzed. At 20:26, Man City's technical department account had to post a notice on Twitter: "Unfortunately, mcfc.co.uk is struggling to cope with the number of hits following today's big news. We will get things back to normal soon."
About an hour later, the same account issued a follow-up announcement: "Temporarily, the address mcfc.co.uk will only serve to post club announcements. We will check the traffic and bring everything back to normal as soon as possible."
English football fans started to go crazy for Pep after the coach announced that he would leave Bayern at the end of the 2015-2016 season and move to England. Besides Man City, many other teams also pursued Pep, including Man Utd and Chelsea.
While in charge of Barca, Pep won three La Liga titles and two Champions Leagues. After moving to Bayern in 2013, the coach has also achieved success and is about to win a third consecutive Bundesliga title.
