Presenting 8 savings books to relatives and families of martyrs on Gac Ma Island

(Baonghean.vn) – On the morning of August 23, the Nghe An Association in Hanoi coordinated with the Association for Supporting Families of Martyrs of Nghe An province to organize a ceremony to present savings books to relatives of martyrs who died in Gac Ma Island - Truong Sa (March 14, 1988).

Attending the program were comrades: Lieutenant General Nguyen Quoc Thuoc - Former member of the Party Central Committee, Former Commander of Military Region 4, Vice Chairman of the Nghe An Association in Hanoi; Hoang Xuan Luong - Former Vice Chairman of the Ethnic Committee along with representatives of provincial departments, branches and sectors and relatives of the 8 martyrs who died at Gac Ma Island.

The ceremony of giving savings books to relatives and families of martyrs in Gac Ma Island is one of the meaningful activities to celebrate the 69th anniversary of War Invalids and Martyrs Day, and to practically welcome the 71st anniversary of National Day September 2.

At the ceremony, Lieutenant General Nguyen Quoc Thuoc spoke in recognition and expressed gratitude for the contributions and sacrifices of the heroic martyrs of Gac Ma for the independence and sovereignty of the sea and islands of the Fatherland.

Representatives of the Nghe An Association in Hanoi and the Association for Supporting Families of Martyrs of Nghe An province presented savings books to relatives of martyrs.

At the same time, it affirmed that the Fatherland and people always remember the noble sacrifices of the heroes. Continuing the charitable activities, on this occasion, the Nghe An Association in Hanoi presented 8 savings books, each worth 10,000,000 VND to relatives and families of 8 martyrs.
