Giving poor households development opportunities from cattle and buffalo farming
(Baonghean.vn) -Nghe An Provincial Rural Development Department and the People's CommitteeThe Fatherland Front of Quy Hop district supports poor households in Do Luong and Quy Hop with buffalo and cow breeds to develop livestock farming.
* Afternoon of November 28,Nghe An Provincial Department of Rural Development presented support calves to 24 households in Minh Son commune (Do Luong).This is the Sind-crossbred heifer breeding model project under the project to support production development, diversify livelihoods and replicate poverty reduction models.
This time, 24 poor households, near-poor households, and households that have just escaped poverty in 2017 were supported with calves. Each calf is worth 15 million VND, the total value is 380 million VND.

This program is funded by the National Target Program on Hunger Eradication and Poverty Reduction. In Nghe An province, there are 6 districts that are supported with calves, including: Hung Nguyen, Nam Dan, Nghi Loc, Yen Thanh, Dien Chau, Do Luong. Each district has 1 commune that is supported with calves.

* In order to help poor households have the strength and assets to overcome hunger and reduce poverty, in November 2017,Quy Hop District Fatherland Front Committeehas drawn from the district's "Day for the Poor" fund a total of 220 million VND to support poor households with special difficulties to buy breeding buffaloes and cows.

With the support of 10 million VND/head, poor households have purchased breeding buffaloes and cows for raising. The communes supported from this fund to buy buffaloes and cows include: Chau Thai commune with 5 cows, Chau Ly commune with 4 cows, Chau Thanh commune with 5 cows, Chau Dinh commune with 5 cows and Yen Hop commune with 3 cows, for a total of 22 cows.
These are poor households lacking production capital but have labor and ensure conditions to develop livestock farming to escape poverty in the coming time.
