(Baonghean.vn) - Units, localities and individuals have many activities of giving gifts and distributing charity porridge to poor students and patients in the province.

* On the occasion of Christmas and New Year 2019, on the afternoon of December 24,Nghe An Provincial Red Cross Society, Thanh Vinh Live Blood Bank Club organized the 5th "Live to Love" Program in Dien Lam commune, Quy Chau district.

Here, the delegation presented 235 warm clothes, 235 pairs of sandals, red scarves, candy, milk; lunch boxes, warm blankets, mats and water filters at 3 schools.

On the same day, the delegation also awarded 10 scholarships (each worth 300,000 VND) to 10 students in especially difficult circumstances and orphans; with a total program value of 55 million VND.

This is a gift from the mobilization of charitable organizations and individuals inside and outside the province, contributing to encouraging students in the highlands to have a warm new year.

The activity of cooking and distributing porridge has been carried out regularly every Tuesday morning since the beginning of the year, with funding contributed by youth union members (VND8,000-10,000 per month); along with the support of union officials, civil servants, philanthropists, and businesses in the area.

In 2018, Tan Ky District Youth Union and its affiliated grassroots unions gave 7,000 portions of porridge to poor patients in the area.

*December 25,Standing Committee of Thai Hoa Town Youth UnionOrganized visits and gave gifts such as desks, bicycles, blankets, mattresses... to 4 students in difficult circumstances sponsored by the Town Youth Union - Town Pioneer Council; each gift is worth from 1.2 - 1.9 million VND.
