(Baonghean.vn) - On January 19, many localities, units, departments, branches and organizations in the province organized gift giving and charity houses for disadvantaged and disabled families.

Quynh Luu: Handing over charity houses to people with disabilities

On the morning of January 19, the Association for the Support of People with Disabilities and Orphans of Quynh Luu District, in coordination with the Central Construction Joint Stock Corporation and An Hoa Commune, organized a ceremony to hand over a charity house to Ms. Ho Thi Phong in Nam Tien Village.

Ms. Ho Thi Phong is disabled, paralyzed and confined to a wheelchair, unable to work. She and her husband and two sons are currently living at her mother's house.

Faced with the difficult circumstances of Ms. Phong's family, the Association for the Support of the Disabled in Quynh Luu district called on organizations, individuals, and philanthropists to donate to help her build a house.

After nearly 3 months of construction, the new house with a cozy 3-room design worth 250 million VND has been completed. The new house was built with the efforts of the family, the support of relatives, neighbors and the support of departments, branches and organizations. Of which, the Association for the Protection of People with Disabilities and Orphans of Quynh Luu District supported 50 million VND, and the Central Construction Joint Stock Corporation supported 10 million VND.

Mr. Son: More than 200 bowls of free porridge were given to poor patients.

On the morning of January 19, the Youth Union of the People's Block and the Anh Son District Treasury coordinated to distribute 200 free porridge portions to patients being treated at the District Medical Center.

The program "Bowl of love porridge" implemented by the District Youth Union in coordination with the District Red Cross Society is now in its third year and has received the enthusiastic participation of cadres, Youth Union members of the agency Youth Union, Business Union and philanthropists throughout Anh Son district.

Tan Ky: Repairing a house for two orphaned sisters

On January 18 and 19, women's union members and youth union members of Dong Van commune (Tan Ky) helped the family of Vo Van Danh and Vo Thi Ngoc in Vinh Thanh hamlet, Dong Van commune (orphaned of both parents) to repair their house to celebrate Tet.

The small house their parents left them was dilapidated and the roof collapsed, so the two children had to temporarily stay at the neighbor's house next door.

With the support of the Nghe Tinh State Reserve Department with the amount of 20 million VND, women's union members and youth union members in the commune, and neighbors helped with more than 200 working days of cleaning, repairing, and re-tiling the house for the two children to celebrate Tet.

At the same time, the women also donated more than 800 thousand VND to buy a water pump for the two children to serve their daily activities, and the Red Cross Society of the commune supported 2.5 million VND to buy breeding goats.

Organizing the program "Warm winter, volunteer spring" in Nam Can commune

On January 19, Hung Nguyen District Youth Union coordinated with Nam Can Border Post, Nghe An Border Guard and local authorities to organize the program "Warm winter, volunteer spring" in Nam Can commune, Ky Son district.

Within the framework of the program, the Organizing Committee presented 276 gifts to poor households in Nam Can commune, each worth 150,000 VND, organized a year-end party for 272 students of Nam Can commune's primary and secondary boarding school for ethnic minorities, and provided free medical examination and treatment and medicine to local people.

Nghia Dan Police and FC Friend Hoang Mai give gifts to Catholics

On the afternoon of January 19, Nghia Dan District Police and FC Friend Hoang Mai organized the presentation of 4 gifts to 4 poor Catholic households in Dong Tien hamlet (Nghia Hoi), each gift worth 1 million VND and 10 kg of rice; presented 1 gift worth 2 million VND to Vietnamese Heroic Mother Ngo Thi Tiep in Binh Hai hamlet (Nghia Binh).

It is known that in the coming time, with the money donated and supported by officers and soldiers from responding to the appeal letter for Tet for the poor of the Provincial Party Secretary, Nghia Dan District Police will continue to give gifts to poor households and families of soldiers in difficult circumstances.

Nghe An Red Cross Society gives Tet gifts worth over 200 million VND

On January 19, the Provincial Red Cross Society coordinated with kind-hearted people inside and outside the province to organize Tet gifts for people in Muong Tip commune, Ky Son district worth 210 million VND.

At the program, the Organizing Committee presented 50 gifts to the poor (each worth 500,000 VND), 17 gifts to the disabled and lonely elderly (each worth 300,000 VND and 1 warm blanket); presented 3 scholarships to 3 disabled students; 634 new warm clothes, 1,268 pairs of slippers, warm socks, 3,100 boxes of milk for primary and preschool students; 30 million VND to support the construction of boarding houses for primary school students.

This is the fourth year that every Tet holiday, Nghe An Provincial Red Cross Society has implemented the program "Live to love" to give gifts to poor communes in mountainous border areas.
