Deploying 7 working groups to supervise the handling of corruption cases in 14 provinces

At the Steering Committee Meeting, the contents were discussed and commented on. Review of the implementation of the Conclusion of the 9th Session of the Steering Committee: Since the 9th Session, the contents of the Conclusion of the General Secretary - Head of the Steering Committee Nguyen Phu Trong have been actively implemented by the competent agencies: The Central Propaganda Department is urgently completing the draft Regulation "on the mechanism for providing and directing, orienting information and propaganda on anti-corruption" to submit to the Secretariat for signing and promulgation. The Government is urgently completing the summary of 10 years of implementing the Law on Anti-corruption, preparing to organize a National Conference summarizing 10 years of implementing the Law on Anti-corruption to propose fundamental amendments to the Law on Anti-corruption.

The Steering Committee is focusing on directing the implementation of Directive No. 50-CT/TW of the Politburo on "Strengthening the Party's leadership in detecting and handling corruption cases"; preparing to deploy working groups to inspect and supervise the inspection of cases; initiating, investigating, prosecuting and trying corruption and economic cases in a number of localities and conducting thematic inspections of the prevention, detection and handling of corruption in the tax and customs sectors.

Many serious and complicated corruption and economic cases of public concern have been and are being directed to remove difficulties and obstacles, speed up the investigation, prosecution and trial. In particular, the authorities have urgently coordinated, removed difficulties and obstacles to complete the first-instance trial of 08 key cases before the 12th National Party Congress, and are continuing to take the next steps to completely handle the above cases according to the provisions of law, creating a positive effect on public opinion among cadres, party members and the people.

Announce the Politburo's Decisions on the consolidation of the Steering Committee and give opinions on amending and supplementing the Decision on assigning tasks to the Steering Committee members.

Regarding the plan to inspect and supervise the inspection of cases; initiate, investigate, prosecute, and try serious, complicated corruption and economic cases that the public is interested in in 2016 of the Steering Committee: This is a regular activity to implement Resolution 4 of the Central Committee (term XI); inheriting and promoting the results of inspection and supervision in the past years, in 2016, the Steering Committee continued to deploy 07 working groups led by 07 members of the Steering Committee, to inspect and supervise the inspection of cases; initiate, investigate, prosecute, and try serious, complicated corruption cases in 14 provinces: Thai Nguyen, Lang Son, Phu Tho, Lao Cai, Bac Ninh, Tay Ninh, Hau Giang, Soc Trang, Quang Ngai, Binh Phuoc, Quang Nam, Phu Yen, Long An, Tien Giang. At the same time, conduct thematic inspections on the prevention, detection, and handling of corruption in the tax and customs sectors.

Agreed to add the case of Giang Kim Dat and his accomplices for the crimes of "Embezzlement of property", "Intentionally violating State regulations on economic management causing serious consequences", "Concealing and consuming property obtained by others through crime", "Concealing crimes" occurring at Vinashinline Company to the list of cases being monitored and directed by the Steering Committee.
