Busting a group of people buying and selling children under 16 years old to serve karaoke bars
Three people have just been arrested on charges of buying and selling three 13-14 year old girls to work for free at a karaoke bar.
On September 25, Nguyen Thi Nhung, 47 years old; Tran Van Can, 51 years old and Tran Truong Oanh, 33 years old, were prosecuted and temporarily detained by the Binh Xuyen District Police, Vinh Phuc to investigate the crime.Human trafficking under 16 years old.

According to the initial investigation, Nhung has been working as a karaoke bar manager in Tuyen Quang City for many years. In early July, Nhung spent 20 million VND to buy three female employees aged 13-14 from other karaoke bars to work for her. The money was calculated as daily living expenses and transportation.
When they were picked up, the girls had to work for free at karaoke bars to pay off Nhung’s debt. One runaway was caught by Nhung and charged an additional 15 million VND.
In early August, Oanh learned that her three younger sisters no longer wanted to work for Nhung, so she and Can, the owner of the DJ Club karaoke bar in Binh Xuyen district, discussed buying it back. Mr. Can then spent 74 million VND to pay Nhung and bring back the three employees.
The family of a victim later discovered the incident and filed a police report.
