Information about the recall program for defective Subaru Forester vehicles was approved by the Vietnam Register on June 12. According to the latest announcement, 16 Subaru Forester 2.0 XS vehicles manufactured from January 2009 to September 2010 have defective airbag systems.
Specifically, after a long period of operation, due to time factors, exposure to heat and humidity, non-self-drying airbag pumps containing balanced ammonium nitrate may not deploy when the vehicle is involved in a collision or deploy with high pressure, causing damage to components and potentially causing serious injury to the passenger sitting in the front right of the vehicle.
In the announcement, the representative of Subaru in Vietnam said: "To ensure the safety of users and customers, ensure the vehicle operates stably according to standards as well as prevent the risk of unsafety in unexpected situations that may arise during vehicle operation, we recommend that customers quickly bring their vehicles to authorized dealers of Vietnam Auto Image Company Limited to have their vehicles inspected and repaired according to standards. Vehicles subject to recall must be immediately brought to authorized dealers of the Subaru brand for inspection and replacement.
