How to check the airbag system
Airbags are an indispensable safety feature on all cars today.
Therefore, checking the airbag system is a regular and important task to ensure safety when driving.
To know if the airbag system is working properly or not, you need to use the indicator light with the airbag symbol on the front of the display panel. This indicator light system monitors the airbag sensor cluster such as the front and side airbag sensors, the emergency belt tensioner, the airbag inflator, the internal wiring and the power sources.
The airbag is operating normally when this indicator light is lit by the ignition switch being turned on and off within about 6 seconds. If the light does not light up or lights up but does not turn off after 6 seconds or the light comes on while driving, it indicates a problem with the airbag and needs to be checked and repaired.

Additionally, if an airbag has been repaired after a collision, it should be replaced according to official procedures. This ensures that the airbag will function properly and protect the driver and passengers.
Common airbag failures
Airbag Failure: If the indicator light on the dashboard does not illuminate or remains illuminated, it indicates that the airbag is defective or inoperative. If a defective airbag fails to deploy in the event of an accident, the risk of serious injury to vehicle occupants increases.
Improper airbag replacement or repair: In fact, airbags that are replaced or repaired but not to the correct standards may not function or function properly when needed and will cause injury to vehicle occupants in the event of an accident.
Mechanical Failure: Insecure electrical connections or wiring may cause the airbag to not deploy or to not operate fully.
Faulty Sensor: The sensor in the airbag system sends a signal to activate the airbag when a traffic accident occurs. If the sensor is not working properly or is damaged, the accuracy of the airbag system may be affected and it will not deploy in the event of an accident.
Non-standard gas pressure and concentration: The pressure and concentration of gas in the airbag must be standard to be able to inflate in the event of a traffic accident, minimizing the risk of injury.
