North Korea warns it is close to launching missiles at Guam
North Korean state media warned on October 13 that recent US military activities have brought North Korea closer to “pressing the strongest response button,” according to IBTimes.

IBTimes quoted a warning on North Korean state media saying: “We (North Korea) have repeatedly warned that we will respond in self-defense, including launching a series of missiles into the waters near the US island of Guam, an outpost that the US is plotting to use to invade the DPRK, where the US has key military bases.”
Pyongyang accuses US military activities in the region of “destabilizing” the Korean peninsula.
These actions push North Korea "closer to the strongest retaliation button", which includes launching a series of missiles near Guam.
The comments came shortly after North Korean Foreign Minister Ri Yong-ho accused the US of “igniting a war” and warned that Pyongyang could unleash “heavy fire” on the US in response.
“North Korea must resolve this issue once and for all with firepower, not with empty words. It is the unwavering will of the Korean People and Army to rain firepower on the US, which has been loudly demanding the total destruction of the DPRK,” Foreign Minister Ri said.
The "war of words" between the US and North Korea shows no signs of abating as both sides continue to make threats to each other. US President Donald Trump said last week that dialogue with North Korea is a "waste of time", "the US's policy of dealing with North Korea for the past 25 years has failed" and that he believes there is only "one way" to solve this problem. Mr. Trump's statement is believed to imply military action against North Korea, which his administration has always kept open.
