The US sent the aircraft carrier Ronald Reagan to conduct exercises near North Korea. |
On October 19, Yonhap news agency quoted a statement from KCNA about a joint US-South Korean naval exercise led by the aircraft carrier Ronald Reagan in waters near the Korean peninsula.
In the statement, KCNA said the US had brought the "main target" straight to the North Korean coast.
"What's worse is that the US puts right under our noses the goals that we have identified as essential. The US should know that it will face an unimaginable blow at the most unexpected moment," the statement stressed.
A US Navy aircraft carrier strike group conducted exercises with South Korean warships off the coast of the Korean Peninsula. The exercise involved US destroyers Statham and Mustin as well as aircraft from both countries.
US and South Korean troops will conduct exercises to plan and practice detecting and intercepting potential ballistic missiles launched from North Korean territory.
