The farce of those who call themselves international, hiding under the guise of 'human rights'

(Baonghean.vn) - Those who claim to be international, hiding behind the guise of "democracy and human rights", awarded the "Martin Ennals Human Rights Award 2022" to Pham Thi Doan Trang - a Vietnamese law violator serving a 9-year prison sentence.

Recently, a number of international organizations have awarded the so-called “Martin Ennals Human Rights Award 2022” to Pham Thi Doan Trang - a subject serving a 9-year prison sentence for “Propaganda against the Socialist Republic of Vietnam” as stipulated in Article 88 of the 1999 Penal Code. Taking advantage of this incident, a few loudspeakers overseas have tried to praise the so-called “Martin Ennals Human Rights Award” and those who gave birth to it, nurtured it and embellished the “record” of Pham Thi Doan Trang.

The public, understanding this incident, cannot help but laugh, because the award is a reward for individuals or groups that have achieved high results in competitions or in a certain field of activity. The purpose of awarding the award is to recognize the contributions of each individual and group to motivate and encourage efforts, to promote the improvement of work quality and efficiency; to praise and honor typical advanced examples, new factors for everyone to learn and strive together towards progress, civilization and better things in life... Yet those who put on the name of internationalism, hiding under the guise of "democracy, human rights" awarded the "Martin Ennals Human Rights Award 2022" to Pham Thi Doan Trang - a violator of Vietnamese law who is serving a 9-year prison sentence.

Pham Thi Doan Trang's violations of the law are very clear. The indictment of the Hanoi People's Procuracy clearly states: From November 16, 2017 to December 5, 2018, defendant Pham Thi Doan Trang made, stored, and circulated documents and articles with content that aimed to oppose the Socialist Republic of Vietnam. Defendant Pham Thi Doan Trang also gave interviews to foreign media with content that distorted the State's guidelines and policies, defamed the people's government, and spread fabricated news that caused confusion among the people. Specifically, Pham Thi Doan Trang stored the following documents: "Summary report on the marine environmental disaster in Vietnam"; "General assessment of the human rights situation in Vietnam"; "Assessment report on the 2016 Law on Religion and Belief related to the implementation of freedom of religion and belief in Vietnam".

The Hanoi People's Procuracy determined that the above documents contained propaganda content "of psychological warfare, spreading and fabricating rumors to cause confusion among the people, and propagating information distorting the guidelines and policies of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam".

Looking at the “record” of Pham Thi Doan Trang’s bad reputation in comparison with the general concept of awards, it is strange that public opinion does not laugh. It can be said that awarding the “Martin Ennals Human Rights Award 2022” to Pham Thi Doan Trang is just the latest stain on the faces of those who have long been hiding under the guise of “human rights protection” to sabotage a number of countries, including Vietnam.

The public is not surprised by the nature of the incident that some organizations with the name of international, hiding under the guise of “human rights”, have just done, because it is just “a rehash of the old story”. Reenacting this clumsy and ridiculous play, some individuals and organizations hostile to Vietnam intend to “kill many birds with one stone”.

Let's take a look at the subjects who have been awarded the so-called "human rights awards" by some organizations, associations, and groups. We will see that they are all law violators who have been tried by People's Courts at all levels in Vietnam, sentenced to prison, or have been prosecuted and detained by authorities to serve the investigation, awaiting trial, with the following charges: "Propaganda against the Socialist Republic of Vietnam", "Making, storing, disseminating or propagating information, documents, and items against the Socialist Republic of Vietnam", "Activities aimed at overthrowing the people's government"...

Awarding awards to those with “achievements” in sabotaging Vietnam, without needing to be said, the public can understand what is hidden behind that action. Some hostile individuals and organizations have revealed their anti-Vietnam nature when performing this trick. Stemming from that nature, what some hostile individuals and organizations want is nothing more than to praise the so-called “human rights award…” – the monstrous, deformed child they gave birth to; to glorify those with “achievements” in sabotaging Vietnam, thereby continuing to distort, falsify, and deny human rights achievements in Vietnam.

Furthermore, through that action, some individuals and organizations hostile to Vietnam have continued to conspire, entice, incite, and encourage opportunistic, dissatisfied elements who are greedy for money, fame, and speculation about "democracy and human rights", and to create more "achievements" against the country in order to receive "awards". Along with the "awards" are money and material things, which are actually a way to breathe life into and support those who are against Vietnam.

No matter how sinister and sophisticated they are, the nature and intentions of the enemies who specialize in sabotaging Vietnam are still exposed and revealed. The "human rights award" trick, no matter how many times it is performed, will always remain a clumsy and ridiculous farce on the overseas political stage. No matter how much it is praised, such a trick can only lure and incite opportunists and politically dissatisfied people who are used to living as traitors and slaves, but cannot deceive the genuine Vietnamese people./.
