(Baonghean.vn) - Angry at Bui Hoang Viet Anh's foul play, Da Nang assistant coach Nguyen Viet Thang jumped onto the field and tried to "question" the Hanoi defender; Serbian court sentenced referee Srdjan Obradovic to 15 months in prison and a 10-year ban from football for the imaginary penalty.

In the first half's injury time, Viet Anh and his teammates surrounded Ibou Kebe near the touchline. Even though the Da Nang player fell to the ground and referee Duc Canh blew the whistle, the Ha Noi defender still kicked the ball from close range and hit the opponent.

The incident took place right in front of Da Nang's technical area, causing anger among the coaching staff, players as well as the home fans. Many Da Nang players rushed to argue. From outside the field, assistant coach Viet Thang also rushed in to scold and point at Viet Anh.

Faced with the chaos, referee Duc Canh and his assistant, along with Hanoi players, had to step in to stop it. Captain Nguyen Van Quyet then stepped in to mediate with the Da Nang coaching staff.

For his foul play, Viet Anh received a yellow card. The Hanoi defender seemed to be unable to keep his cool when his team was down 1-0 at Hoa Xuan Stadium. His actions also reflected the trouble that the reigning V-League champions went through in this match.

Lacking many key players, Hanoi were forced to play and hardly created any dangerous chances in the first half. They even let Anh Tuan score in the 19th minute, with a low shot when facing goalkeeper Bui Tan Truong. In the second half, Hanoi played better, with the appearance of Nguyen Quang Hai. However, not only did they not score any goals, they also conceded another goal with an own goal by Van Kien in the 69th minute.

With their third defeat since the start of the season, Hanoi has only 10 points after 7 matches. Meanwhile, Da Nang has ended their streak of draws and losses since 2014 against the capital team, and has consolidated their position in the top group with 15 points.

Referee goes to jail for imaginary penalty

Obradovic was convicted for two penalties in the Spartak Subotica - Radnicki Nis match in 2018. Subotica converted both penalties and won 2-0.
According to the Tanjug news agency (Serbia), both penalties were controversial. The second penalty was even more surprising because the Nis players showed no signs of fouling, while the Subotica players did not call for the penalty. In addition to the two 11m penalties "given" to Subotica, Obradovic also forced Nis to play with 10 men when the score was 0-0. He showed two yellow cards to Milan Pavkov within two minutes.

The 2018 Subotica-Nis match was a key match in the Serbian championship play-offs. The winner had a crucial advantage in qualifying for the Europa League.

Obradovic's refereeing is not the only scandal to hit Serbian football recently. Last week, Slavisa Kokeza resigned as president of the Serbian Football Federation without being charged after police questioned him in connection with an organized crime investigation.
