Mr. Nguyen Van Duong, head of the agricultural department, said: In the spring crop of 2018, the whole district planted over 12,700 hectares of rice, of which about 5,000 hectares were hybrid rice, the rest were pure rice and high-quality varieties. The district allocated a part of the budget to support localities with plant protection drugs to treat seeds to prevent rice diseases. Regarding technical solutions, Yen Thanh district recommends that farmers in each commune should only choose a maximum of 2-3 rice varieties with similar growth times and must sow or transplant within 2-3 days to properly implement the requirements for care and pest management.
