World Cup record-breaking referee officiates Vietnam women's team match against Portugal
On July 27, the Vietnamese women's team will meet the Portuguese women's team in the second match of the 2023 Women's World Cup. The referee team for this match has also been announced by FIFA.
Accordingly, Ms. Salima Mukansanga (Rwandan nationality) was appointed as the main referee to control the match. Supporting the main referee Mukansanga are the assistants: Two linesmen Queency Victoire (Mauritian nationality), Mary Njoroge (Kenyan nationality) and table referee Anahi Fernandez (Uruguayan nationality). FIFA has not announced the identity of the VAR referee and VAR assistant referee in this match.

Mukansanga has been a FIFA referee since 2012, officiated at the 2019 Women's World Cup and became the first female referee to officiate at AFCON 2022 (the African Nations Championship). Mukansanga has also officiated at the Olympics (women's football) and the African Nations Championship.
At the 2022 Men's Football World Cup, Ms. Mukansanga made history as one of three female referees assigned to the task, alongside referees Stephanie Frappart (French nationality) and Yoshimi Yamashita (Japanese nationality).
After the first round of matches in Group E, neither the Portuguese nor the Vietnamese women's team has scored any points or goals. In preparation for this match, Coach Mai Duc Chung and his players are continuing to practice actively on the field with a relaxed spirit, solidarity and determination after the match, which received many words of encouragement against the US women's team./.
