Profited from more than 6 billion VND in insurance by breaking his own bones
Ta Minh Chau and his accomplices organized to cause injuries and set up fake crime scenes to appropriate more than 6 billion VND in life insurance in Phu Tho.
On November 14, Phu Tho Provincial Police said that the unit had just dismantled a ring of self-chiseled bones and joints, causing fake injuries for the purpose of...appropriation of moneylife insurance in the area.
Specifically, through collected documents, the Investigation Police Agency of Phu Tho Province clarified that Ta Minh Chau (30 years old), former officer of Cam Khe District Medical Center, was the mastermind and leader.
Taking advantage of his long time working in the medical industry and understanding the structure of bones and joints as well as the insurance payment mechanism for high-value fractures, Chau has set up a systematic profiteering process. This process includes mobilizing insurance purchases, organizing injuries, and legalizing medical records to appropriate money from insurance companies.
Notably, Chau directly injected anesthetic, then used a syringe and hammer to impact the insurance buyer's bones, creating cracks and fractures that resembled real accidents. Once the injuries were created, Chau continued to instruct the subjects to create fake scenes, such as electrocution or slipping and falling into a stream, to legitimize the medical records and complete the insurance claim file.
Chau colluded with Nguyen Thi Hoai Thu and many other subjects, including Nguyen Anh Dung, Ha Thanh Dat, Hoang Van Truong, Hoang Van Thang, Hoang Thi Hong Diep, Hoang Thi Linh... These are all people who directly participated in purchasing insurance under Chau's instructions and were injured by Chau to gain illegal profits.
With the above tricks, the subjects appropriated more than 6 billion VND from many life insurance companies such as Manulife, AIA, Dai-ichi Life, FWD, Sun Life, Chubb Life... Of which, Manulife Company alone was appropriated 2.6 billion VND.
Based on the investigation results, the Investigation Police Agency of Phu Tho Province Police has issued an Emergency Detention Order and an Emergency Arrest Order for Ta Minh Chau, Hoang Van Truong, Hoang Van Thang, Hoang Thi Hong Diep and Nguyen Anh Dung.
At the same time, 6 related subjects were detained to serve the investigation.
