Trump named in 52 lawsuits since inauguration
US President Donald Trump has been named in more than 50 lawsuits since taking office, a staggering number compared to the first days of previous administrations.

Since taking office on January 20, Mr. Trump has been named in 52 federal lawsuits in 17 states, according to the Administrative Office of the U.S. Courts. During the period from January 20 to February 1 of his predecessors, Barack Obama was named in only three lawsuits, while George W. Bush and Bill Clinton were named in four lawsuits, according to NBC.
Mr Trump faces legal challenges over his 90-day ban on people from seven Muslim-majority countries entering the US and conflicts of interest issues related to his business holdings.Federal Judge James Robart issued a ruling on February 3 to halt the enforcement of the travel ban. The US Department of Justice has appealed to restore the order.
San Francisco also sued Trump for targeting sanctuary cities (cities that protect illegal immigrants by not prosecuting them) in an executive order that would limit federal funding to cities that fail to comply with U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement requirements.
California Attorney General Xavier Becerra promised on NBC this week that he will do whatever it takes to stop the construction of a wall on the border with Mexico.
