Middle East: America's top ally cooperates militarily with Russia

"Russia is the most important player on the international stage. Russia can play a positive role in the Middle East. We support joint efforts to combat current challenges. Our political views are closer than people think," he said onIzvestia newspaper.

Foreign Minister Adel al-Jubeir also stressed that: every year, military relations between the two countries will increase thanks to active arms trade.

"After signing agreements on the purchase and sale of military reserves, the mutual impact between the two countries will be strengthened. It will be of a long-term nature," - said the Foreign Minister.

He also added that the country's officers are studying and training in Russia, something that was unimaginable ten years ago.

Earlier, there was news that representatives of Russia and Saudi Arabia discussed the purchase of S-400 surface-to-air missile systems.
