The Sichuan Provincial Disciplinary Investigation Agency announced on November 13 that Yan Chunfeng, 50, was removed from his position as party secretary of Guang'an City and expelled from the Party for "serious disciplinary violations," according toSCMP.

Nghiem was investigated in May after Li Xiangyang, Nghiem's ex-wife, arrogantly demanded that the leaders of the Golden Apple Kindergarten in Chengdu explain why the teacher tried to change the seat of "Secretary Nghiem's daughter." Nghiem's daughter was said by the teacher to be a hit-and-run girl and to fight over seats with her classmates.

Nghiem’s ex-wife also threatened the teacher that the school had decided to fire her. Photos of her threatening messages were later posted on social media, causing a stir.

After a six-month investigation, the Sichuan Provincial Commission for Discipline Inspection charged Yan with obstructing an investigation, accepting bribes, and abusing his position to seek profits for friends and relatives, but did not elaborate.

The website of the Central Commission for Discipline Inspection of the Communist Party of China (CCDI) also said that Yan failed to report his marital status and assets to investigators as required.
