China can unite Russia and the US

If China's influence increases, it could change the relationship between the Russian Federation and the United States, as well as eliminate anti-Russian sentiment in the West, the expert said.
In an introduction to a new book at the Center for Strategic and International Studies, when asked what should be done to dispel anti-Russian sentiment in the West, Mr. Mirshaymer said: "My view is quite simple. There is one thing that will change views on Russia and change the relationship between Washington and Moscow, and that is the growth of China. If China continues to grow, the Americans and the Russians, I think, will unite… to try to contain China."
Mr. Mirshaymer assured that the US pushing Russia into the hands of China is "strategically stupid." This analyst emphasized: "The threat from China is much stronger than Russia. We must have a good relationship with Russia."
