China welcomes courage of leaders of two Koreas
(Baonghean.vn) - On April 27, China welcomed the leaders of the two Koreas to hold a historic summit, calling the handshake between the two leaders at the military demarcation line dividing the two Koreas a "historic moment".
Speaking at a press conference in Beijing, Chinese Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Hua Chunying said, "China welcomes the historic step taken by the leaders of the two Koreas and highly appreciates their political determination and courage."

Ms. Hua Chunying emphasized that China expects and hopes that the leaders of the two Koreas will take advantage of this opportunity to open a new path to bring long-term stability to the Korean Peninsula.
It is known that before the start of the meeting on the afternoon of April 27, South Korean President Moon Jae-in and North Korean leader Kim Jong-un planted a pine tree together at the military demarcation line in the truce village of Panmunjom, an event symbolizing the desire for peace and prosperity on the Korean Peninsula of both sides.
