According to DIHK, suspicions about Türkiye's support for the Uyghurs in China could be the reason for China's moves.
"The Chinese consulate does not issue visas to German businessmen with Turkish names," DIHK head Volker Treier told Wirtschaftswoche.
Chinese immigration authorities appear to discriminate against Germans with Turkish names and those who have spent a lot of time in Türkiye.
Mr. Treier also warned that this issue could affect trade relations between China and Germany.
According to Wirtschaftswoche, the Chinese Consulate in Germany is rejecting visa applications from businessmen with Turkish names and potential tourists who have spent a long time in Turkey./.
