According to Ria Novosti, Lieutenant General Igor Romanenko - former Deputy Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in an interview with Ukrainian radio said that the procedure for mobilizing troops in Ukraine needs to be simplified, and it is time for deputies to conduct raids together with military commissars.

“Now the law should simplify all these issues. And when the parliamentarians study the laws, I propose that they join the armed forces,” the Lieutenant General recommended.

According to the general, the Armed Forces of Ukraine must not only compensate for the losses of existing units, but also form new brigades for “offensive operations.” Lieutenant General Igor Romanenko demanded that all citizens perform military service, including women, to register.

Lieutenant General Igor Romanenko added that the Soviet mobilization system could not meet the current needs of the armed forces, and required fundamental changes.

"All this needs to be done, because there is no time. Ensuring the recruitment of 20,000 soldiers every month is a difficult task," said Lieutenant General Romanenko.

Earlier, the deputy leader of the Servant of the People Party in parliament, Maryana Bezuglaya, said that the leadership of the Armed Forces of Ukraine plans to send at least 20,000 conscripts to the front every month.

Ukraine is struggling to crack down on draft dodging, fueled by fatigue from the conflict with Russia, making it difficult for the country to recruit new soldiers for the fierce front lines.

In August, President Volodymyr Zelensky fired all military recruitment agency heads in regions across the country and launched an investigation into suspected corruption involving these agencies.
