The Central Government supervises the development of science and technology in Nghe An.

(Baonghean.vn) – On the morning of November 30, the working delegation of the Central Steering Committee for the joint supervision program led by Mr. Le Ba Trinh – Vice Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee had a working session with the People's Committee of Nghe An province on the implementation of the Central Resolution 6 (term XI) on science and technology development and the Law on science and technology.

Comrade Huynh Thanh Dien - Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee and representatives of relevant departments, branches and sectors worked with the delegation.

At the meeting, Mr. Huynh Thanh Dien - Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee affirmed: In recent years, Nghe An has continuously raised awareness and invested heavily in science and technology to develop the local socio-economy.

After Resolution 20-NQ/TW "On the development of science and technology to serve the cause of industrialization and modernization in the conditions of a socialist-oriented market economy and international integration" was issued, Nghe An actively directed Party committees at all levels, authorities, sectors and organizations to organize propaganda and disseminate widely to all classes of people.

To concretize the Resolution, Nghe An has issued programs and plans on science and technology development; approved and implemented many related projects, programs and plans. For example, the project to develop Nghe An into a science and technology center of the North Central region in the period of 2015-2020.

Nghe An has actively attracted high-quality human resources. Up to now, the team of science and technology staff with college degrees or higher in the province is 5,571 people, including 97 professors and associate professors; 258 doctors and specialized doctors and pharmacists 2.

The province promotes and improves the quality and efficiency of scientific research and technology development activities; focuses on transforming research results into production; with the motto of focusing on application, in the period of 2011 - 2015, the province has implemented 165 provincial-level scientific research and technology development tasks, of which the agricultural sector accounts for 38.8%. The total investment in science and technology of the province in the period of 2011 - 2015 is 172 billion VND.

The working delegation of the Central Steering Committee for Coordination and Supervision worked at the TH Group Milk Factory in Nghia Dan district.

Up to now, the province has 632 subjects established for protection, management, exploitation and protection of intellectual property, including 11 inventions... The province has built brands for local products with 1 geographical indication for Vinh orange, 01 certified brand (Van Phan fish sauce) and 5 collective brands (Nghe An tea; Quy Chau incense; Cua tiles; rice paper, peanut candy; Hai Giang fish sauce I).

However, at present, the direct contribution of science and technology to new products that become commodities is still low; Effective application is still limited; There are still low-efficiency topics and projects with low replication; The quality of some fields does not meet practical requirements such as information technology and biotechnology; There is a lack of leading officials, technical experts and good engineers.

At the working session, the delegation raised questions to clarify investment policy mechanisms, policies to attract high-quality human resources, the number of high-quality science and technology models in the agricultural sector, and practical effectiveness from research topics of Nghe An province.

Comrade Huynh Thanh Dien and representatives of the departments, branches and sectors have given specific reports. The Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee affirmed: Promoting the development of a number of commodity products, science and technology has been, is and will be a practical resource to help Nghe An eliminate hunger, reduce poverty, build new rural areas associated with the market mechanism, contribute to increasing people's income, and promptly meet the needs of sustainable development of the economy. Currently, 70% of the topics have been applied in practice, bringing good results.

Comrade Le Ba Trinh, head of the working delegation, highly appreciated the initiative and attention to investment in science and technology development of Nghe An province.

Comrade Le Ba Trinh suggested that Nghe An needs to strengthen propaganda work, raise awareness, create changes in actions towards science and technology of Party committees, authorities, business community and the whole society; Gradually increase investment in science and technology in a reasonable manner, prioritize budget sources for science and technology for key science and technology tasks, large scale and influence; Continue to build incentive mechanisms, support investors and businesses to establish organizations for research activities, transfer of science and technology, attract leading experts.

Accordingly, Nghe An needs to select a number of potential and advantageous products to focus on investing in science and technology to develop them into commodity products, forming large-scale concentrated clean agricultural and raw material areas; Speed ​​up research and application of information technology in state management, production and life, gradually forming an information technology industry; Pay attention to research in the field of social sciences and humanities./.
