Center back Nguyen Thanh Chung: 'Vietnam team is ready to face Malaysia's naturalized players'
Center back Thanh Chung affirmed that the Vietnamese team has prepared carefully and is ready to face the naturalized players who are making the home team more unpredictable than ever.
On the afternoon of June 7, the Vietnamese team entered the second day in Malaysia, preparing for the important match against the host team in the third qualifying round of the 2027 Asian Cup.
Unlike the opening training session at SIME Darby FC Stadium – which has an open space and limited security, this afternoon’s training session was held in a more private setting, with a grandstand and better safety for the team.

When asked about preparations for Malaysia's naturalized players, Thanh Chung said: "The Malaysian team has a lot of new players, and Vietnam has not faced them yet. I think the Vietnamese team is ready to face any player."

When asked who is the most notable player on the Malaysian side, Thanh Chung did not name any specific players but remained cautious. “There are many naturalized Malaysian players, and we do not know which players will be the main players, so I respect all the players.”

Despite having to practice separately in the first days of the team meeting, the Hanoi FC midfielder affirmed that he is keeping his spirit of readiness at the highest level. “During a long period of continuous competition without any rest, my current physical condition is really not 100%, but my spirit is always 100%.”
Regarding the integration of new faces like Quang Vinh, Quoc Viet or Ly Duc, Thanh Chung said that there are not many obstacles. "In my opinion, they are also players who have fought in the V-League a lot. I don't see any difficulties in the integration process."
The Vietnamese team will continue to train in Kuala Lumpur in the coming days, aiming for the decisive match against Malaysia taking place at 8pm (Vietnam time) on June 10 at Bukit Jalil Stadium./.
