Vietnam - Korea Vocational College of Technology aims to be a high quality vocational school
(Baonghean) - Since 2014, Vietnam - Korea Industrial Technical Vocational College has been one of 40 schools nationwide selected by the Prime Minister to build a high-quality vocational school. The main goal is to train occupations that meet regional and international standards, meeting the demand for high-quality human resources for the country's socio-economic development.
Vietnam - Korea Vocational College of Technology, formerly known as Vietnam - Korea Vocational College, was established under Decision 1727/QD.UBND dated December 4, 1998 of the Chairman of Nghe An Provincial People's Committee with non-refundable aid from the Korean Government to Vietnam. On February 15, 2007, the school was upgraded to Vietnam - Korea Vocational College of Technology.
After nearly 20 years of construction and development, this is now a fairly complete vocational school model in the system of vocational schools in Vietnam with a team of experienced and qualified teachers. The whole school has over 130 lecturers teaching in 7 specialized departments, 98% of lecturers have university degrees, 80% of lecturers have master's degrees, 2% of lecturers have doctoral degrees, 30% of lecturers have studied in Korea, Japan, Australia, Malaysia, England, 98% of lecturers meet the standards of vocational teaching pedagogy.
In addition, with the investment from the Korean Government and the Provincial People's Committee, the facilities and training equipment are invested in a large scale to ensure modernity, update new technology, and compatibility with the training program. Currently, the school provides vocational training at 3 levels: college, intermediate, and elementary with 11 different occupations for more than 3,000 students.

This favorable condition is an important basis for the school to develop the project to develop the Vietnam - Korea Industrial Technical Vocational College into a high-quality school according to the Prime Minister's Decision. Accordingly, along with constantly improving the quality of the teaching staff and investing in facilities, training and job creation for students after training is a key task that the school pays great attention to.
Thanks to good propaganda, career guidance and the development of a reasonable training program, the school's reputation among students and parents has continuously increased. The number of students enrolling in the school has increased continuously; in recent years, the school has enrolled 1,000 students annually and expanded enrollment to all provinces in the Central region.
During the teaching process, the management of training quality is focused on. Based on the framework program of the General Department of Vocational Training, the school develops a detailed program and organizes the compilation of textbooks, develops an annual training plan for implementation. Training is implemented closely to the needs of businesses and market requirements, theoretical training is combined with practice.

Along with vocational training, the school focuses on educating industrial style for students. Over the years, many students of the school have been selected to participate in ASEAN and world vocational competitions, winning high prizes such as Dang Quoc Tuan, Le Minh Hoang, Pham Van Viet...
In addition, the school also pays great attention to international cooperation, regularly maintaining close relations with Korea through the Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA) to train and improve the qualifications of teachers and managers, invest in teaching equipment, access Korean training programs...
In the 2016 school year, implementing the International Vocational Pilot Training Project, the school cooperated with Chisholm College of Australia to train 2 occupations: Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Engineering; Electrical Installation and Industrial Control Engineering according to Australian standards and degrees. In addition, hundreds of other students are also participating in the pilot training class of 6 high-quality college classes for the occupations of Industrial Electricity, Electronics, Mechanics, Welding, Refrigeration, Mechatronics, Electrical Installation and Industrial Control.

The issue of creating jobs for students after graduation is also one of the decisive factors for the success of the school's training work. Currently, the school has relationships and cooperation with more than 50 businesses in and outside the province. Three months before graduation, students are given survey forms about job needs, work locations, and proposed salaries. The school will proactively send information to companies that need to recruit, organize career counseling sessions, and support students in the interview process, preparing documents, and making contracts.
Previously, during their time at school, the school also created conditions for students to do internships at reputable businesses in the form of both studying and working. In 2015 and 2016 alone, nearly 2,000 students were able to experience actual production and the total salary that businesses paid to students during the 3-month internship was nearly 27 billion VND... Every year, over 85% of students after graduating from the school have jobs and stable incomes. Currently, the school has over 2,000 students working in Korea, 300 students working in Japan, 250 students working in Taiwan...

With these important results, recently in the pilot assessment of high-quality schools by the Ministry of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs, supported by the German GIZ and the Korean KOICA, the Vietnam - Korea Technical and Technology Vocational College was scored 85/100 points. In particular, many criteria were highly appreciated such as: Training scale, employment after training, quality assessment work...
The above initial success will also motivate the school to improve itself and further improve the quality of training, especially when the Law on Vocational Education officially comes into effect. In addition, the school has been implementing a plan to revise, supplement and adjust the training program to meet the requirements of society, the needs of businesses and learners, gradually completing the detailed program of training occupations and organizing annual experience sharing at 3 training levels: elementary, intermediate and college; moving towards granting practical engineering degrees to college graduates.
The school will also improve the quality of the teaching staff, create conditions for teachers to study to improve their qualifications, especially foreign language proficiency according to international standards to meet the requirements of high-quality training. At the same time, continue to invest in facilities, promote international cooperation, build relationships with production units, labor-using units, create connections between training units and labor-using units to improve capacity and efficiency after training.
