The Provincial Political School held its opening ceremony for the 2018-2019 academic year.

Attending the opening ceremony were Comrade Nguyen Xuan Son – Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Council; members of the Provincial Party Standing Committee: Nguyen Thi Thu Huong - Head of the Provincial Party Propaganda Department; Cao Thi Hien - Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Council. Representatives of the Party committees of the Provincial Party Committee; and provincial departments and agencies also attended.

Representing the Provincial Political School were Ms. Nguyen Thi Hong Hoa - Member of the Provincial Party Committee, Principal of the Provincial Political School; and over 200 students of the 2018-2019 course who attended the opening ceremony.

Each year, the School collaborates with the Ho Chi Minh National Political Academy to open 1-2 advanced political theory courses at the school; and collaborates with Party committees, subordinate Party committees, and localities to open 42-45 intermediate political theory courses and training courses at the school and intermediate political training courses in districts, cities, and towns.

In the 2017-2018 academic year, the Political School directly and collaboratively trained and taught 64 classes with 5,684 students across various training and development programs (advanced and intermediate political theory, training for specialist and senior specialist positions, training for target group 4, training in grassroots mass mobilization work, training for commune-level secretaries, etc.). The school actively innovated teaching methods and continuously improved the quality of teaching and learning.

A highlight was the successful hosting of the 6th National Excellent Lecturer Competition for provincial-level political schools and schools under ministries, branches, and central organizations (2017). The department also advised the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee on a meeting with the Director of the Ho Chi Minh National Political Academy to evaluate the results of 10 years of implementing Decision No. 184-QĐ/TW dated September 3, 2008, of the Central Party Secretariat and some issues regarding cadre training and development.

In addition, the school has actively promoted scientific research and practical experience summation, achieving encouraging results. A highlight was its leading role in coordinating and advising the province to successfully organize the international conference commemorating the 150th birthday of the patriot Phan Boi Chau and the provincial conference commemorating the 100th anniversary of the Russian October Revolution.

Organize professional activities, thematic presentations, and implement school-level scientific projects to serve teaching, research, and contribute to the socio-economic development of local areas.

Emphasis is placed on building a highly qualified and capable organizational structure and a team of civil servants and staff with strong political convictions and professional ethics, with 100% of lecturers meeting standardized criteria. The school's infrastructure has been upgraded, renovated, and newly constructed, gradually meeting the requirements for teaching, research, learning, and living for staff, lecturers, and students.

Speaking at the ceremony, Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee Nguyen Xuan Son praised, acknowledged, and congratulated the outstanding results achieved in the 2017-2018 academic year by all staff, lecturers, and students of the school who united and overcame difficulties to achieve them.

It was emphasized that the 2018-2019 school year began in the context of the entire political system of the province focusing on evaluating the results of 2.5 years of implementing the Resolution of the 18th Provincial Party Congress and 5 years of implementation.Resolution 26-NQ/TW dated July 30, 2013, of the Politburo on the direction and tasks for the development of Nghe An province until 2020., in which there are still many targets that require continued effort to achieve. Along with that, we have implemented Central Resolution 6 and Central Resolution 7 of the 12th Party Congress.

Therefore, to contribute to the successful achievement of the set goals, the Provincial Political School is responsible for continuing to innovate and improve the quality of political theory training and education for leading and managerial cadres, actively contributing to the fulfillment of the targets for cadre training and education set in the Resolution and the socio-economic development plan for the period 2016-2020, creating momentum to strive for the increasingly strong development of Nghe An.

The Provincial Political School needs to continue to effectively advise the Provincial Party Standing Committee and the Provincial People's Committee on the training and development of cadres, civil servants, and public employees; Effectively implement the contents of Project No. 12-DA/TU dated July 30, 2015, of the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee on "Building and developing the Nghe An Provincial Political School in the period 2015-2020, with a vision to 2030", Plan No. 81-KH/TU dated July 20, 2017, "on compulsory political theory training" and Directive No. 14-CT/TU dated August 21, 2017, "on strengthening leadership and management of training and fostering cadres, civil servants, and public employees in Nghe An province" in conjunction with focusing on effectively implementing cadre training and fostering in accordance with the spirit of the Resolution of the 18th Provincial Party Congress and central government documents.

At the same time, the School needs to continue to innovate, reorganize its organizational structure, streamline staffing, and effectively implement solutions to build and develop a team of qualified lecturers, leaders, and managers with high political qualities, ethics, lifestyle, and qualifications, possessing good skills and methods, and strong political acumen to meet the requirements of fulfilling the school's political tasks in the new era.

Simultaneously, there should be a strong focus on reforming training and professional development activities to improve quality, linking theory with practice; increasing investment in infrastructure and equipment towards modernization, ensuring the necessary conditions for the creative activities of lecturers and students, and effectively serving teaching, learning, and research.

The Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee requested that the trainees seriously adhere to the principles of discipline, spirit, and attitude towards learning, seriously determine the correct motivation for learning, and actively research to expand and enhance their understanding and awareness of political theory, management methods, and leadership skills in order to achieve beneficial and practical results, thereby working better and fulfilling their assigned tasks more effectively.
