French TV makes film promoting Vietnam tourism
With a duration of 1 hour and 30 minutes, the film about Vietnam tourism titled “Les sourires du Vietnam” (The Smiles of Vietnam) brings viewers beautiful images of the landscape, country and people of Vietnam.

This is the result of cooperation and support from the Embassy and the Vietnamese Cultural Center in France and the reporter team of the French television program Echappées Belles.
The film was shown on French television channel France 5 on June 18, 2016 and attracted 956,000 views, accounting for 4.6% of the French television viewership market. The film was also posted on the website of Echappées Belles France 5.
The film opens with images of green rice fields stretching to the horizon and herds of buffalo leisurely walking in the peaceful countryside. These are typical images of the Vietnamese countryside, reminding everyone of a hard-working, labor-loving country.
Next, with extremely impressive and beautiful scenes, the film takes the audience to explore many attractive destinations of Vietnam tourism, while affirming that Vietnam is a country that is constantly changing and developing, a country of smiles, a country of love with gentle, honest and hospitable people.
“Les sourires du Vietnam” is considered a film with very useful content, high artistic value, and needs to be widely disseminated to Vietnamese press agencies as well as Vietnamese representative agencies abroad, contributing positively to promoting Vietnamese tourism to international tourists and friends.
According to the General Statistics Office, in the first 6 months of 2016, international visitors to Vietnam were estimated at 4,706,324, up 21.3% over the same period in 2015. Along with international visitors, in the first 6 months of 2016, Vietnam Tourism also served about 32.4 million domestic visitors. Of which, overnight visitors reached 15.8 million; total revenue from tourists was estimated at 200,339 billion VND, up 22.1% over the same period in 2015.
The results achieved in the first 6 months of 2016 are the premise to complete the goal of welcoming 8.5 million international visitors, serving 60 million domestic visitors, and total revenue from tourists reaching 370 trillion VND of Vietnam Tourism in 2016.
