In its article, the publication refers to the report of retired Bundeswehr Lieutenant General, former NATO Deputy Secretary General Heinrich Braus and Director of the Institute for Security Policy at Kiel University Joachim Krause.

Mr. Krause believes that while Europe is preoccupied with climate change and the migration crisis, Russia, without any good reason, is preparing for regional wars in Europe, which it intends to wage, with the threat of using nuclear weapons.

According to Mr. Braus, Russia seems to deliberately seek to confront Western countries, while also seeking to destroy world order and undermine NATO's cohesion.

However, according to the former Bundeswehr soldier, Russia understands that it will not be able to win a conflict with NATO, so it seems to be able to launch a “surprise blow”, reinforced by the threat of a nuclear attack.

The Black Sea region, the Baltic states, Poland and Ukraine are called places where “attacks” from Russia could begin.
