Communication on drug prevention and human trafficking for ethnic minorities

The program aims to widely disseminate to cadres, union members, and youth the content of the legal education program and the program to prevent and combat drug crimes and human trafficking, especially in remote areas.

At the same time, promote the vanguard role of youth in the fight against crime, promptly detect and support victims. From there, consolidate and improve the quality of the Youth Union and Association to affirm the position and role of the Youth Union and Association in the youth and society.

At the program, people were directly taught important knowledge by volunteers to better understand the dangers ofdrug trafficking and human trafficking, especially for Nghe An province. Propaganda activities were carried out vividly with the forms of questions and answers, presenting reports, and using presentation software.

Speaking at the program, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Youth Union Thai Minh Sy said that according to the Government's report, from 2019 to now, the whole country has discovered more than 370 cases, with nearly 500 subjects, defrauding and selling more than 550 victims.

In Nghe An alone, in the first 6 months of 2022, functional forces in the province discovered, investigated, clarified, and arrested 8 cases and 12 subjects related to crimes of human trafficking, trafficking of people under 16 years old, and trafficking of children; discovered and arrested 632 cases and 888 subjects illegally buying, storing, and transporting drugs.

Identifying the urgent and important issue of coordinating to combat drug and human trafficking, in recent times, together with all levels, sectors, and levels of the Youth Union and Association, there have been many communication activities on information channels and social networks to provide timely information to union members and youth, while calling on all levels of the Youth Union to step up propaganda work, raise vigilance, promptly detect and denounce crimes, and provide advice and support to victims.

In particular, in the Summer Youth Volunteer Campaign, the work of propagating and educating the law for the People and Union members, young people is one of the important contents directed by the Provincial Youth Union Standing Committee. Accordingly, at the Youth Union bases across the province, many teams and activities of propagating the law have been deployed and operated effectively in the localities.

From the meaning of the program, comrade Thai Minh Sy hopes that each union member, youth and people need to proactively equip themselves with knowledge and skills to protect themselves and their families from increasingly sophisticated tricks of criminals.

Along with promoting the role and vanguard spirit of union members and youth in economic and social development activities, social security, and volunteering for community life, propaganda, education, and dissemination of laws to the people and youth also need to be focused on and implemented synchronously and effectively by the Youth Union at all levels.

From there, raise awareness of law compliance, stay away from wrongdoings and promptly detect, fight and denounce crimes.

Sending his condolences to the unfortunate victims who fell into the hands of human trafficking criminals and drug addicts, the Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Youth Union affirmed that everyone should have faith in the police officers, border guards, socio-political organizations and the community who always sympathize and accompany to support everyone in rebuilding their lives.

In order to help, encourage, and share some of the difficulties in life, to create confidence and motivation for poor children to strive to study well and become useful people for their families and their homeland. The program's Organizing Committee presented 10 gifts to students with difficult circumstances in the area. At the same time, the Organizing Committee also presented meaningful gifts to veterans, martyrs' relatives, and policy families in the commune.
