"We call on the international business community, including companies in the US industrial and commercial sectors, to take prompt and effective measures, urging the US government to correct its mistakes,"People's Daily, the mouthpiece of the Chinese Communist Party, wrote in an editorial today.

The newspaper asserted that Chinese businesses will collectively support any government action against tariffs imposed by the Trump administration.

On April 6, China warned that it was ready to counter with trade measures on fresh produce if President Trump implemented an additional $100 billion tariff package. On the same day, China filed a complaint against the United States with the World Trade Organization (WTO) to resolve the trade dispute with the United States within 60 days.
