Broadcasting false disaster forecasts can be fined up to 50 million VND

In Decree No. 84/2017/ND-CP, the Government announced a series of new penalties for administrative violations in the fields of hydrometeorology, surveying and mapping. The Decree takes effect from September 10, 2017.

Specifically, a fine of 40 - 50 million VND is applied to the act of transmitting or broadcasting incorrect meteorological and hydrological disaster forecasts and warnings or not transmitting or broadcasting meteorological and hydrological disaster forecasts and warnings... For the act of transmitting or broadcasting meteorological and hydrological disaster forecasts and warnings later than the prescribed time, the fine is from 20 - 30 million VND; Transmitting or broadcasting incomplete content of the bulletin, the fine is from 10 - 20 million VND.

Also according to this Decree, setting fire or spraying water that affects works belonging to a meteorological station will be fined up to 1 million VND; Planting perennial trees in the technical corridor that covers hydrometeorological works will be fined up to 3 million VND; Dumping garbage and waste into the riverbed or on both sides of the river in the technical corridor of works belonging to a hydrometeorological station will be fined up to 7 million VND...

Compensation up to 10 million VND for those who provide information about martyrs

From September 10, 2017, the compensation level for those providing information about martyrs will be adjusted according to Decision No. 35/2017/QD-TTg of the Prime Minister.

Accordingly, compensation of 3 million VND will be given to those who provide accurate information to search for and collect 1 martyr's remains; 5 million VND for accurate information about mass graves containing 2-5 martyrs' remains and 10 million VND for accurate information about mass graves containing 6 or more martyrs' remains. Previously, the compensation in this case was only 2 million VND.

In addition, this Decision also increases the allowance for the team searching for and collecting martyrs' remains. Specifically, the allowance for directly performing the task of surveying, collecting and collecting martyrs' remains in the country will be increased from 100,000 VND/person/day of actual duty to 220,000 VND/person/day of actual duty; the health allowance will be increased from 280,000 VND/person to 500,000 VND/person (no more than 2 times/year).
