Regarding the incident, Colonel Phan Van Ung - Deputy Director of Soc Trang Provincial Police said, in response to information that Ms. Tuyen organized a fake funeral to deceive creditors, the police are issuing a notice to find the victim. Regarding the condolence money, the investigation agency has not yet given a solution.

Previously, the police received a report that Mr. Nguyen Van Liet (born in 1962, residing in Phuoc Hoa A hamlet, Cu Lao Dung town) was organizing a funeral for his wife, Mrs. Tran Thi Tuyen. According to the family's obituary, Mrs. Tuyen passed away on March 27 in Hong Ngu town, Dong Thap province, and was brought home to organize the funeral.funeral.

Concerned that Ms. Tuyen's body was transported from an epidemic area (bordering Cambodia), Cu Lao Dung District Police coordinated with the district's Covid-19 prevention team to spray disinfectant at the funeral and inspect the coffin according to regulations. Cu Lao Dung District Police coordinated with the Procuracy to examine the scene and seize related objects and documents.

During the police investigation, Ms. Tuyen appeared at her home. Initially, she confessed to having faked her own death and organized the funeral. Local public opinion believed that Ms. Tuyen faked her death to avoid debt.
