According to a report on the situationforest management and protectionIn special-use, protective and production forests, no forest ranger force has been established: Currently, the total area of ​​forest and forestry land in the province is 1,237,556.6 hectares (forested land is 962,899 hectares; non-forested land is 274,659.7 hectares).

Of which, special-use forests are 172,673.43 ha (forested land is 167,278.6 ha; non-forested land is 5,394.7 ha); protection forests are 367,352.8 ha (forested land is 297,190.9 ha, non-forested land is 70,161.9 ha); production forests are 625,921.6 ha (production forested land is natural forest is 314,381.7 ha, production forest is planted forest is 122,556.3 ha, non-forested land is 188,983.5 ha).

Currently, the entire forestry sector of the province has 1,217 people; of which, 995 people work in 19 units that do not have established forest rangers (including 11 Forest Protection Management Boards; 4 Forestry One Member Limited Liability Companies; 4 Youth Volunteer Teams).

From 2016 to present, the entire forestry sector has had 158/1,217 people quit their jobs or leave their units (accounting for 12.98%). 158 people who quit their jobs or leave their units are all in the specialized forest protection force. Of which, the number of people quitting their jobs or leaving their units without organizing a forest ranger force is 130/995 people (accounting for 13.06%).

The reason why many specialized forest protection forces in units that do not organize forest rangers quit their jobs is because of low income (average income fluctuates around 5 million VND/month); salary payment is delayed compared to regulations (some units often delay payment by 6-8 months), while work pressure is high, far from family.

“Among the 158 people who have quit their jobs, there are also forestry officials. Currently, there are some units that need to recruit workers but cannot recruit them…” - a responsible official said about the difficult situation of the forestry sector.
