From December 1, localities will extract passenger data themselves via the PC-Covid app.
The National Center for Covid-19 Prevention and Control Technology has completed upgrading the "Domestic travel declaration" feature under the health declaration function of the PC-Covid application (app) to comply with the requirements and regulations on domestic passenger transport of the Ministry of Transport.
The system was completed on the basis of agreement between the Ministry of Health and the Ministry of Information and Communications. Specifically, in the "Domestic travel declaration" section of the "Health declaration" section, passengers can now declare all travel information such as: means of transport, vehicle registration number, departure date, departure place, destination...
Previously, while the PC-Covid app was upgrading its functions as required, the Ministry of Transport directed airlines and Vietnam Railways Corporation to extract domestic travel declaration data from the PC-Covid app and then synthesize and send it to provinces and cities.

Therefore, to facilitate provinces and cities to proactively extract information of passengers declaring domestic travel, the Ministry of Transport requests the Ministry of Information and Communications and the Ministry of Health to continue to improve the domestic travel declaration function on the PC-Covid application; guide provinces and cities to extract data on passengers declaring to localities.
After the PC-Covid app was upgraded, the Ministry of Transport also requested the People's Committees of provinces and centrally run cities to designate provincial and municipal focal points, coordinate with the Ministry of Information and Communications and the Ministry of Health to extract passenger information data that has been declared to their localities to deploy epidemic prevention and control measures according to regulations.
“From December 1, 2021, the Ministry of Transport will stop compiling and sending information about declared passengers to localities and request that provinces and cities proactively exploit this information through the PC-Covid application,” the Ministry of Transport’s official dispatch stated.
According to the regulations of the Transport sector, currently, passengers traveling by plane and train have made electronic health declarations on the PC-Covid epidemic prevention and control application, in the "Domestic travel declaration" section. These regulations aim to facilitate passengers traveling by air and rail during their travel, while helping the aviation and railway sectors ensure service quality, serve passengers and control epidemics.
