Polish General: Will Central Europe become 'cannon fodder'?
(Baonghean.vn) - Polish General Leon Komornicki called the idea of sending soldiers from European countries to Ukraine “illusionary”. Instead of trying to find a way to draw soldiers and citizens of Central European countries into an armed conflict, they need to first create a strong military industry.

According to RT news agency on March 9, Dziennik (Poland) newspaper said that French President Emmanuel Macron's statements about the possibility of sending troops to Ukraine have caused "great resonance".
Polish General Leon Komornicki said that even Poland is lacking tanks, ammunition, artillery. The army is not ready for this and they are not capable of doing this.
Europe does not have such opportunities today, General Komornicki explained, and Russia knows this very well. "Moreover, even if we exploit some of the potential and send troops there, we will completely lose our capabilities. Our troops will get bogged down if they go there," the general warned.
Mr. Komornicki commented that people who come up with such ideas think that they know everything, they are omnipotent and can defeat anyone.
"This is completely unrealistic," General Komornicki said of the French leader's idea and those who supported Macron's statement.
General Komornicki asked the question: "Is Central Europe going to become a cannon fodder?". According to him, the solution to the problem of supporting Ukraine lies in creating a strong military industry in Europe, not in trying to draw soldiers and citizens of Central European countries into an armed conflict.
Also according to RT, Politico reported that the head of the French Combat Training Center (CENTAC), Axel Denis, said that the French army is conducting exercises in the east of the country, in conditions as close to reality as possible, simulating a high-intensity conflict with an enemy that is not inferior in firepower.
“The potential adversary was not named, but the training is aimed at preparing the military to fight an adversary like Russia,” Politico said.
According to Politico, the area of the exercise is 120 square kilometers, larger than the area of Paris. This is a unique case in France, because only here do infantry, armored vehicles, artillery and other troops, which are trained separately, operate together.
