Senior US-Japan-South Korean generals hold online meeting on North Korea
According to Kyodo, on January 25, an official of the South Korean Joint Chiefs of Staff said that the top leaders of the military of this country, the US and Japan are likely to hold an online conference next February amid rising tensions due to North Korea's latest nuclear test.

Speaking to the press, this official stated:
"Discussions are underway at the working level to hold a meeting between South Korean Joint Chiefs of Staff Chairman Lee Sun-jin, US Joint Chiefs of Staff Chairman Joseph Dunford and Japan Self-Defense Forces Chief of Staff Katsutoshi Kawano next month. They are considering holding a video conference meeting."
At this meeting, Chairman of the South Korean Joint Chiefs of Staff Lee Sun Jin, Chairman of the US Joint Chiefs of Staff Joseph Dunford and Chief of the General Staff of the Japan Self-Defense Forces Katsutoshi Kawano are expected to discuss how to respond to North Korea's announcement of a successful hydrogen bomb test on January 6./.
