Russian general calls on the US not to hinder the country's fight against terrorism in Syria

After a year of operations in Syria, Russia has achieved what the US-led coalition could only dream of, Russian Defense Ministry spokesman Major General Igor Konashenkov said.

He mentioned that more than two thousand Syrian towns and villages have returned to peaceful life, 86 armed groups have surrendered their weapons, and hundreds of thousands of Syrians have returned home and rebuilt their lives.

"Therefore, if you cannot or do not want to fight IS and Al-Nusra, then at least do not interfere," the Defense Ministry representative said, stressing that Russian forces in Syria are guaranteed everything necessary to effectively fight international terrorism.

Previously, US State Department spokesman Mark Toner called on countries not to support Russian tankers that provide fuel to air forces in Syria.
