(Baonghean.vn) - Vietnam national football team just won against the Philippines thanks to a goal in extra time by Van Quyet.

On the evening of December 14, the Vietnam national football team had a friendly match with the Philippines to prepare for the AFF Cup. After the opening whistle, the Vietnam national football team did not take too much time to dominate the game and put pressure on the Philippines. In the first half, the ball often rolled on the away team's field, but despite dominating the ball control, the Vietnam national football team did not have high penetrating attacks that could cause trouble for the opponent's goal.

The Vietnamese team's finishing shots in the early stages of the match were often long-range shots with low accuracy. Accepting to play tight defense whenever they had the ball, the Philippines patiently waited for the opportunity to counterattack. This team almost caused a shock at My Dinh in the 34th minute, but unfortunately their players failed to take advantage of the opportunity in the "two against one" situation.

In the final minutes of the match, the Vietnamese players accelerated. Van Toan made the opponent's goal shake with a shot that hit the crossbar in the 39th minute. This was also the home team's brightest moment in the first half.

Right at the start of the second half, Coach Park Hang-seo made four substitutions. The change in lineup caused Vietnam to not play better in the second half. Since this was a friendly match, the two teams did not play too aggressively. Coach Park Hang-seo continuously made substitutions to test the positions.

As time ticked down, it seemed like the match would end without a goal, but a surprise happened in the second minute of extra time. Van Quyet crossed the ball from the left side of the Philippines' penalty area, the ball lightly touched the opponent's foot and went into the net, leaving goalkeeper Hansen helpless. Van Quyet's late goal brought a rather surprising 1-0 victory for the Vietnamese team.

After this match, coach Park Hang-seo will finalize the official list of players participating in the AFF Cup 2022.
