USD exchange rate on October 13, 2025: Decrease in the banking system, increase in the international market

Domestic USD exchange rate on October 13, 2025

According to the announcement of the State Bank this morning, the central exchange rate was adjusted down 16 VND compared to the weekend, down to 25,112 VND/USD.

With a trading band of ±5%, commercial banks are allowed to list in the range of 23,856 - 26,367 VND/USD.

At the State Bank of Vietnam, the reference exchange rate remained at 23,907 - 26,317 VND/USD (buy - sell). Major commercial banks all simultaneously reduced the USD price.

Vietcombank reduced the buying price by 37 VND and the selling price by 17 VND, to 26,097 - 26,367 VND/USD.

BIDV also reduced 28 VND when buying and 17 VND when selling, down to 26,140 - 26,367 VND/USD.

VietinBank made similar adjustments, trading at 26,138 - 26,367 VND/USD.

Contrary to the cooling trend in the banking system, the USD exchange rate in the free market continues to be high. Recorded this morning, the USD buying price was 26,776 VND/USD and the selling price was 26,876 VND/USD, nearly 500 VND higher than the selling price of banks.

World USD exchange rate on October 13, 2025

In the international market, the DXY index, which measures the strength of the USD against six major currencies, increased by 0.08% to 99.06 points. The greenback recorded a strong increase against the euro (EUR) and the Japanese yen (JPY) after investors returned to holding USD amid global economic risks.

The escalating US-China trade tensions, along with less positive signals from the French and Japanese economies, have made the USD a safe haven. Last week, the DXY index surpassed 99.5 points, its highest level in many weeks.

In contrast to the USD, the euro fell slightly.

In Vietnam, the State Bank Exchange listed the EUR exchange rate at 27,615 - 30,521 VND/EUR, while Vietcombank's was at 29,716 - 31,282 VND/EUR.
