After nearly 10 days of preparing for the 2018 U19 Asian qualifiers, the Vietnamese national team has made some changes. Accordingly, two new defenders who were given the opportunity to join the national team by coach Hoang Anh Tuan, Le Van Hung (Da Nang) and Nguyen Hoang Duy (Dong Thap), were unable to join their teammates due to injuries.
During the recent training period, these two players also often had to practice separately under the care of physiotherapist Pablo Sa and the medical team. In addition to Van Hung and Hoang Duy, two other defenders, Dang Van Toi and Bui Hoang Viet Anh, also had to practice separately to recover from their injuries. Vietnam U19 captain - Van Toi shared with Bongdaplus that he will soon return in the next few days after recovering from the back problem he encountered at the U18 Southeast Asian Championship.

In the goalkeeper position, U19 Vietnam has added goalkeeper Dang Van Loi from HAGL. Currently, the number of goalkeepers has been increased to 4, alongside Pham Dinh Long (HAGL), Y Eli Nie (Dak Lak) and Duong Tung Lam (Hanoi).
Two days ago, U19 Vietnam had a practice match with U21 PVF. Coach Hoang Anh Tuan's students won 3-1. Defender Le Van Xuan scored a double. The remaining goal belonged to striker Le Van Nam.
