U23 Vietnam: Waiting for the understanding between coach Hoang Anh Tuan and Mr. Troussier
VFF's establishment of two U23 Vietnam teams with separate tasks is reasonable. However, there are still some concerns about the compatibility between coach Hoang Anh Tuan and Troussier.
In order to achieve long-term goals and to facilitate the international tournament schedule, VFF decided to establish two U23 Vietnam teams to carry out separate tasks in the coming time.
Specifically, a team gathering the best players in the U23 age group of Vietnamese football will participate in the 2024 U23 Asian Qualifiers, directly led by coach Philippe Troussier.
The remaining team is led by coach Hoang Anh Tuan with players from the U20 age group, combined with some U23 players who will participate in the 19th Asian Games and the 2023 Southeast Asian U23 Championship.
The VFF's decision to make the above decision is not too new, when Vietnamese football in the early stages of integration used to select youth teams and focus on training in both the North and the South.
Not new, but for Vietnamese football at this time it is very necessary in the context of young players lacking playgrounds and at the same time U23 Vietnam has to perform many tasks in a short period of time.
Besides, a few titles or achievements are no longer too important when Vietnamese football is aiming for the World Cup and needs new factors, so dividing tasks for U23 Vietnam is also very reasonable.
Besides the excitement when VFF is worried about the future, many people are worried about the imbalance in the future between the two teams with two different coaches: Troussier and coach Hoang Anh Tuan.
The concern is completely justified, because each coach's coaching philosophy is different, not to mention the way of managing the team is also difficult to be the same. An example is that Mr. Gong Oh Kyun's U23 is different from the U23 coach Park Hang-seo led that fans have seen.
However, this concern is probably a bit unnecessary in the current case when previously coach Hoang Anh Tuan and Mr. Troussier worked together from U19 to PVF in different roles.
This is probably the main reason why VFF decided to assign Coach Hoang Anh Tuan and Mr. Troussier to lead the 2 U23 Vietnam teams in the coming time, with no other purpose than waiting for the harmony between these 2 strategists...
Hopefully, both the French teacher and coach Hoang Anh Tuan will have maximum understanding to help Vietnamese football achieve its highest goals in the near future.
