U23 Vietnam: Coach Park Hang-seo eliminates hero of U19 Vietnam
(Baonghean.vn) - Striker Tran Thanh was removed from the U23 Vietnam team list by the Korean strategist due to not recovering from injury in time.
In the same “situation” as the Hue player are Nguyen Trong Huy (B.Binh Duong) and Lam Quy (Hai Phong). The reason why the above 3 faces are no longer in coach Park Hang-seo’s plan is not due to professional issues but rather physical factors.
Explaining his decision, Mr. Park said: “I had no choice but to let them go. Yesterday, these players went for an MRI scan and the coaching staff realized that their recovery time was quite long, not enough to serve in this qualifying round. That is the reason why I had to say goodbye to them.”

Tran Thanh is a familiar face to experts and Vietnamese football fans. The striker born in 1997 was the hero of U19 Vietnam nearly 3 years ago. Tran Thanh's only goal in the 71st minute of the quarter-final match between U19 Vietnam and U19 Bahrain at the 2016 AFC U19 Championship helped coach Hoang Anh Tuan and his team win tickets to the 2017 U20 World Cup.
Unfortunately, recently, Tran Thanh has been plagued by injuries. Therefore, the 22-year-old player has not been called up to the U22, U23, Olympic and Vietnam National Teams to participate in major tournaments such as the 2018 AFC U23 Championship, 18th Asian Games, 2018 AFF Cup and 2019 Asian Cup.
Hopefully, the former U19 Vietnam player will quickly recover and shine in the Hue Football Club jersey in the 2019 season. Thereby, lighting up the hope of participating in the 30th SEA Games, taking place at the end of this year in the Philippines./.
