Ukraine does not rule out the possibility of holding negotiations with Russia
Responsible Statecraft believes that Kiev's ability to hold peace talks with Russia is related to the unsuccessful organization of the "peace summit" in Switzerland.

According to TASS news agency on July 15, Responsible Statecraft magazine said that Ukraine is sending a signal to Russia about the possibility of peace negotiations.
According to Responsible Statecraft, Ukraine does not rule out negotiations with Russia in connection with the unsuccessful organization of the “peace summit” in Switzerland, which was not attended by representatives of a number of major countries, such as China.
Switzerland hosted a conference on peace for Ukraine on June 15-16 in Bürgenstock. The Swiss Foreign Ministry previously reported that Bern had invited more than 160 delegations, including those from the G7, G20 and BRICS countries.
At this conference, President Zelensky firmly refused to invite Russia to attend, despite warnings from countries that the conference would hardly succeed without the presence of both conflicting parties.
In a surprise move, Bloomberg reported on July 4 that President Zelensky appeared to soften his tone, acknowledging the possibility of a Russian delegation attending the second peace conference, taking place before the US presidential election.
Commenting on the second peace summit related to the war in Ukraine, Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Mikhail Galuzin said that Moscow does not accept ultimatums and will not participate in such events.
"We know that Kiev and its Western advisers intend to take revenge after the failed peace summit in Burgenstock, Switzerland in mid-June this year and try to organize a similar event," Galuzin said.
Russian President Vladimir Putin said that Moscow would not participate in the conference if it did not want to be there. According to Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov, holding the event is a “path to nowhere”; Russia does not see the West's desire to conduct honest negotiations.
At the same time, Russia has repeatedly stressed that Moscow has never rejected a peaceful solution to the conflict with Ukraine.
