This is the largest amount of cocaine seized in the country's recent anti-drug history.
At a press conference on July 2, the head of the Ukrainian national police, Sergiy Knyazev, said that the operation was carefully planned and carried out from June 19 to July 1.
In this operation, in addition to the above-mentioned amount of cocaine seized, the police also arrested 9 citizens of Ukraine, the Netherlands and the UK.
All of these subjects face up to 12 years in prison for trafficking and possessing large quantities of drugs.
According to Mr. Knyazev, in 2019 alone, Ukrainian police seized a total of 925 kg of heroin and 675 kg of cocaine.
